The hybrid motifs popularized by Chitose Abe of sacai have garnered quite a fair bit of praise since walking the runway only a few months ago. While much was up in the air about the patchwork-esque models, the arrival of official images spells quite a fortuitous future ahead of us. As a welcome departure from her usual affairs with Nike, the eclectic designer is finally bringing to light a reformed Blazer Dunk hybrid to coincide with her LDV Waffle. While the latter received an early showing just this week at the atelier’s traveling pop-up, a wider release of it is surely upon us later this month with the former getting its own time to shine further into the SS19 season. Four colorways make their debut here with the fused low-top taking on either an Orange/Green or Blue/Red while the high-top sits in either a Black/Blue or Yellow/Navy. Though construction retains the likeness of the inspirations it melds together, each pair is a true reflection of sacai’s many mainline feats, toting multiplied midsole foxing next to a doubled motif that is hard to ignore. Enjoy a detailed look at each model below and stay locked in as the LDV Waffle is surely to release in the coming weeks while the Blazer is rumored to drop some time in April.
The sneaker is a hybrid of Nike’s LDV and Waffle Daybreak and comes in two bright colorways. The tongues, mudguards, laces, and Swoosh are all doubled up throughout.
